Even though I live in sunny south Florida, I LOVE talking about how to transition your summer pieces into your fall wardrobe. I love versatility, and I know busy mamas need pieces in their closets that are functional and can carry them through more than one season! If you don’t know where to start, stick around. I’m going to make it really simple for you.
And the good news is that if you don’t have some of these pieces yet, it’s not too late to add them. I know in most places you still have at least a couple weeks of summer left, if not a month, and then these pieces will transition effortlessly into fall.
Here are 5 pieces to make sure are in your closet to see you through this transition.
I know this probably sounds like a no-brainer and with what you usually see me wearing you might be thinking, wait, Jennie… what!? But if you really know me, you know I love a good t-shirt. T-shirts are versatile because you can pair them perfectly with anything from skirts to denim, and as you look around you, you’ll quickly see that they are a popular transition piece.
One of my favorite tees is my Freebird tee, which I love to travel in!
2. Tanks and camis
Tanks and camis allow room for your body to breathe, which is obviously important while it’s still as hot as the surface of the sun out there. Come fall, they are super slimming and look great under a cardigan or blazer. I love tanks/camis for their versatility and easy layering.
3. Denim dresses
Denim is pretty much seasonless, and denim dresses can be appropriate attire for many events in your life. They’re great for outdoor events on cool evenings, and just like the tees and tanks, are effortless and super trendy to add layers to. Your favorite denim dress can carry you through to the end of the year!
4. Straight white denim
Labor Day, who cares!? Wear white denim all through the fall! If y’all remember, it was my mission this year to find the perfect white denim for my body, and help you with all the tips and tricks to find yours. Why? It transitions so well! White denim should definitely be a staple piece in your summer-to-fall wardrobe. For help finding white denim for your body, read this blog post.
Now for the obvious go-to: Cardigans you can layer. We are still hanging onto summer, though, so don’t grab your oversized cardigans just yet. The more fitted, cropped cardigans will serve you best as we transition to cooler evenings and all-over cooler temps. A cropped cardigan will go especially well with your favorite summer dress!
I bet that now when you look in your closet, you’ll see tons of possibilities. If not, and you’re still wondering how to create a more versatile wardrobe, just shoot me a message. I’m hear to help you put your best-dressed foot forward!
