Second Stop: Huron, Ohio

Huron and Get Here!

There is SO much to see and do, we could have easily stayed here for a few more days.

Quarry HIlls Orchard

A dear friend from college, Brooke and her family own and operate a third-generation farm, Quarry Hills Orchard in Huron, Ohio. What a beautiful farm to visit and experience. They officially open in a couple of weeks so if you’re local or passing through this part of Ohio you have to stop by! Totally worth spending a day!

The farm produces everything from cherries, apples, peaches, raspberries, and more. In the fall they have pumpkins, cider and more. They are currently building a new farm that will have tastings, a fresh market to purchase fruits in season, merchandise, pick-your-own and outdoor bocci, and picnic tables to enjoy the orchards.

Peach Orchard Winery

Adjacent to the farm is a beautiful new winery, the Peach Orchard Winery. It overlooks the orchards and offers indoor and outdoor seating, a tasting room, delicious locally-produced wines and small plates.

Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point

Okay, this hotel literally has it all! As you drive into Cedar Point, which is located in Sandusky, Ohio, you drive through the amusement park FULL of extreme roller coasters. I love a good roller coaster, especially the old wooden ones with the drops but some of these are CRAZY high with loops and drops. EEK! Then off to the left is a HUGE water park. All are located along Lake Erie and opens July 9th. The hotel is HUGE with many pools, restaurants, arcades, and more and is right on the boardwalk that runs along the beach at Lake Erie! The water is calm with boating, jet ski rentals, parasailing, and paddleboarding! Even with “COVID concerns” this place was packed! We hung on the beach and the kid’s splash pad with child- friendly water slides. Kids LOVED it! Yesterday was Summer Solstice the beach bar, outdoor bands were rockin’ and the kids were playing on the beach until the sun went down at 10:30 pm! It was so much fun.

Since it was Skylar’s 9th birthday yesterday she asked that Payton and Henry slept over so we had 6 kids in our hotel room last night with Jim and I. The things you do for your children. All in all, we had a lot of fun!

I highly recommend checking out Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point! HUGE crowd pleaser.

Now we are off to Indy! Hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day!
